Post Summer Skin Rehab – Targeting Pigmentation
Following on from the last blog and the active ingredients that target pigmentation and brown spots/uneven skin tone. Today we’ll look at the best serums to help target hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.
Hyperpigmentation is a complex issue to treat. It can’t simply be exfoliated away. However, exfoliation done correctly and not too often, will help with the skin’s appearance overall. It also encourages cell turnover and reveals a brighter and smoother complexion.
The previous posts looked at the importance of a good quality SPF and our star product of the week was a cleanser with skin brightening and natural lightening actives.
Serums That Target Pigmentation
NCN Vitamin C Serum – As well as being a powerful antioxidant serum that protects the skin from free radical damage, and so prevents wrinkles and sagging. It targets pigmentation, sun damage and age spots. Helping to fade the dark patches and brighten the skin. Not only that, it reduces lines and wrinkles, firms the skin, and also improves skin texture and tone.
NCN DNA Serum – Containing an impressive list of actives that fight wrinkles, strengthen skin, improve natural hydration, firm and plump skin, reduce redness and improve elasticity. DNA Serum contains an active called Gluconolactone. This ingredient helps to tackle sun damage and its effects on skin, such as hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. It also helps to protect against possible future sun damage.
NCN GHK-Cu Copper Peptide Serum – This serum reverses the clock when it comes to skin! It removes damaged old skin cells and replaces them with new and healthy skin that looks younger. If you have sun damage, Copper Peptides can remove it over time for a much fresher looking complexion. As well as removing damaged skin, it targets pigmentation with Liquorice (also in the Lemon Cleanser). So, if you want to remove age spots and improve skin tone as well as lessen wrinkles, firm and tighten skin and improve clarity. Copper is an excellent choice! It’s also a potent antioxidant that protects your skin from the damaging effects of free radicals.
Retinol to Improve sun Damage and Pigmentation Problems
NCN All-Trans Retinol – Retinol (vitamin A) is vital for skin cell renewal and repair. If you’re past the age of thirty it makes good sense to include retinol in your skincare regime. It’s also an excellent choice as part of the ‘target pigmentation’ crew. It can really improve a sun damaged complexion and promote a more even skin tone. Collagen is also boosted to improve firmness and reduce lines and wrinkles. NCN All-Trans Retinol is strong and effective – yet gentle. It’s encapsulated, so it gets right where it needs to be in the skin to make a difference. Another benefit is that it’s time-released. Being time-released makes it more gentle on the skin.
One additional treatment product that makes a difference with consistent use:
NCN Pro Pumpkin Peel – A Smell of Autumn in a Jar
NCN Pro Pumpkin Peel – a fabulous post-summer skin treatment that gives you a sniff of the coming months ahead. But its delicious, warm aroma is just the cherry on the top! Its combination of glycolic, lactic, salicylic and fruit acids, combined with pure organic pumpkin go to work on skin to rejuvenate it and give it its glow back. Loaded with vitamins and antioxidants that nourish the skin, it dissolves dead surface skin cells that dull a complexion. It works to fade blemishes, dark spots and any marks left by acne. On top of that it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promotes firmer, healthier and brighter skin.
A final word – remember that consistency will bring results, but that patience is required. We all want fast results and sometimes when they don’t come as fast as we’d like, we feel like giving up. But healthy skin is an ongoing commitment. Do the best you can each day to promote healthy skin and you’ll see and feel the results.
